Meet the Pastor

Pastor David Evans is a retired Marine who, along with his wife Andrea’, has been called to minister to this area for years. Their road has not been easy though. Pastor Evans’s churches have been hit by, not one, but two tornadoes. They fought through the rebuilding process both times and found something far greater than the physical structure of a church building - God’s faithfulness. God always has something greater for us all - and it comes through faith. Now Pastor David, his family, and the members of Greater Faith Church are excited to open their new church building in Moundville, AL. Pastor David believes God has something greater for each of us, and for the city of Moundville. We just have to take the step of faith and follow Him.

Jesus said, “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” - John 14:12-14

 FAQs

  • Great question! We have two Sunday morning services, at 9:00am and 11:00 am. Each service lasts just a little over an hour. There is also programming for your kids 0 years through 8th grade during service.

  • You can wear whatever you want. There will be people who who dress up a bit, and people in jeans in a T-shirt so you will fit in no matter what you have on. We’re not focused on what you have on, we are focused on who you are as a person. You have value because you are a child of God. We will be excited to see you and welcome you when you come.

  • We are all different, but we all belong. That’s what is so great about God’s kingdom. We focus on something we all share, our faith in Jesus Christ. We work hard to be known as a church for all people. We’re not a black church, brown church, or white church. We’re not a rich church, or a poor church. We are a church, committed to loving the people of Moundville, Alabama. A place where all people can feel at home.

  • We know it is a little scary not knowing how you will be treated when you visit a church, but we promise that you will not be put on the spot. The church is new, so everyone is new! You will be in the same boat as everyone else. There will be someone to welcome you at the door and give you any directions you might need. Beyond that, we hope you feel comfortable and at home. We are excited to connect with you when you are ready, but feel free to take your next steps at your own pace.

  • You want to know what you are getting yourself into. We completely understand. The total service will last about an hour and fifteen minutes. It will start with 2-3 worship songs followed by a prayer. Next, someone will welcome everyone and share some upcoming events and opportunities to connect. Pastor David will give sermon that is challenging, but also practical, encouraging, and probably even a bit entertaining. The message will usually last about 35-45 minutes.

  • We have programming available for kids 0 years through 8th grade during all of our Sunday morning services. You can check your kids in when you arrive. We want to keep them safe, so they will receive a name tag with a number and you will also receive a ticket with that same number to use when you pick them up. Once checked in, your kids will have a blast with music, games, worship, and lessons designed for their stage of life. We think church should be fun. There’s a good chance they will be dragging you back the following Sunday.

  • We are a non-denominational church where anyone from any background is welcome. Pastor David Evans has a Degree in the Bible and Pastoral Ministry. Greater Faith is a Jesus centered church that believes in the authority of the Bible as our guide for life. We are committed to loving God and loving others as He loves us.

  • Now we get to the important stuff! Yes, we prepare fresh coffee for you to enjoy each Sunday for free. You can find it at our Coffee Connection Station. Oh, and you are more than welcome to take it into the auditorium with you during service.
